Morrison took his cue from the ocean in the name, from the steady rhythm of waves arriving on a shore. He turned that into a chair with even proportions and slats that follow the posture of the body in gentle curves. The link to city parks is deliberate. Chairs of this type have long been part of old public gardens, and Atlantic brings the familiar form to a private terrace or a hotel courtyard without copying any one model.

The range is short. The low lounge chair with armrests lets the sitter lean far back into a relaxed position. The chair with armrests is the dining piece, and the product text also describes a stackable chair drawn in the same language. An optional swivel side table attaches to an armrest and holds a glass or a book, so the lounge chair can do without a separate table beside it.

With no cushion and no woven textile, upkeep is mostly a hose and a soft cloth. Aluminum will not rust, rain runs off between the slats, and the chairs can stay out through a wet spring.
